## Leadership Team
BITE Data is led by industry veterans with deep regulatory, government, data science, and AI experience in trade compliance and national security systems.

- **Thariq Kara (Chief Executive Officer)**  
  Engineer and data strategist with 15+ years of experience architecting big data and regulatory systems for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, and other national agencies. At BITE, Thariq leads product vision, data architecture, and global partnerships — drawing on his background in AI/ML data processing, SaaS product development and data architecture.  
  Education: Master of Engineering Management, Duke University; B.S. Mechanical Engineering, Florida Institute of Technology.

- **Anne Brookings Riitho (Chief Data Officer)**  
  Co-founder of BITE and former Director of Data Science at NU Borders. Anne has led data pipelines and regulatory ingestion frameworks for HTS, tariff, and sanctions data used by trade and defense clients worldwide. Her background spans trade compliance, sanctions screening, and data strategy — combining regulatory expertise with a product-led discovery mindset.  
  Education: M.A. Learning Engineering (Boston College); M.Sc. Health, Community & Development (London School of Economics).

- **Jacob Walters (Chief Technology Officer)**  
  Former U.S. Army Logistics Officer turned full-stack engineer and CTO. Jacob built and scaled BITE's core regulatory AI platform — from prototype to production — leading full-stack development, API architecture, and AI feature integration. His experience spans secure web platforms for customs systems, PERN-stack development, and government system integrations.  
  Education: B.S. Biology, Central Michigan University; Full Stack Engineering (Galvanize).

- **Kumbirai Sibanda (Head of Data Science & AI)**  
  AI engineer specializing in machine learning for trade, compliance, and autonomous systems. At BITE, Kumbirai leads AI module development for export control, risk detection, and data-driven decision-making across global supply chains. His background in aeronautical engineering and robotics underpins his analytical approach to trade data modeling.  
  Education: B.Sc. Eng. Aeronautical Engineering, University of the Witwatersrand.
