Export Screen
Run the full export compliance decision: parties, ECCN, destination, end-use, and license requirement.
What is this feature?
Export Screen combines party screening, ECCN classification, destination + Country Chart logic, and end-use red flags into a single license-decision workflow under the EAR. Each screen produces a documented verdict — no license required, license exception available, or license required — with the underlying rationale saved for audit.
When should I use it?
- • Before quoting or shipping any export, re-export, or deemed export
- • When the ECCN, destination, end-user, or end-use changes
- • On any transaction touching a Reason for Control (NS, AT, RS, MT, EI, CC)
- • Periodic re-screen of existing customers and distributors
Step-by-step in BITE
- 1
Open Export Screen
From the BITE sidebar, select Export Screen under Tools.
- 2
Enter the transaction
Add the item (or ECCN), destination, end-user, ultimate consignee, and end-use.
- 3
Run the screen
BITE screens every party against SDN/Entity/MEU/Unverified lists, applies the Country Chart to the ECCN, and runs Part 744 end-use checks.
- 4
Review the license decision
Result is shown as NLR, License Exception (with the exception cited), or License Required — with the rule that drove the verdict.
- 5
Document and proceed
Attach the verdict to your export record. Escalate license-required cases to your trade counsel or filer.
What results mean
- • NLR — No License Required for this ECCN/destination/end-use combination
- • License Exception — eligible exception (e.g., LVS, GBS, ENC, TSU) with conditions cited
- • License Required — BIS license required before export; transaction is blocked pending review
- • Red flag — Part 744 end-use, end-user, or destination concern requiring human review
Common issues & FAQs
Do I still need to do the ECCN myself?
Run Classify or ECCN Check first if you don't have one. Export Screen uses whatever ECCN you supply (or EAR99) to drive the Country Chart.
Does it cover ITAR?
Export Screen covers EAR. ITAR-controlled items must be routed to your USML/DDTC workflow — BITE will flag suspected ITAR items for escalation.
What about deemed exports?
Yes — flag the transaction as deemed export and supply the foreign national's nationality; the Country Chart logic applies to their home country.
