Entity Screening
Screen companies, individuals, vessels, and addresses against global watchlists.
What is this feature?
Entity Screening is BITE's core workflow for checking any party — customer, supplier, freight forwarder, end-user — against denied party lists, sanctions programs, PEPs, and adverse media in seconds.
When should I use it?
- • Onboarding a new customer, vendor, or partner
- • Before issuing a quote, invoice, or shipment
- • Periodic re-screening of your existing book of business
- • Investigating a hit flagged by monitoring
Step-by-step in BITE
- 1
Open Entity Screen
From the BITE platform sidebar, select Entity Screen.
- 2
Enter the party
Type the name, paste an address, or upload a CSV for batch screening.
- 3
Run the screen
BITE checks 200+ global watchlists, sanctions lists, and adverse media sources.
- 4
Review AI Evaluation
Each potential hit is scored by BITE's AI for likelihood of true match vs. false positive.
- 5
Review Adverse Findings
Examine context, source, and confidence for each finding.
- 6
Resolve or escalate
Mark as cleared, escalate for legal review, or block the transaction. The full audit trail is saved.
What results mean
- • Green / Clear — no matches found across screened lists
- • Yellow / Potential Match — review AI Evaluation for context and confidence
- • Red / Confirmed Match — entity appears on a sanctioned or denied list; escalate immediately
- • Adverse Findings — non-list-based risk signals from media, enforcement actions, or ownership analysis
Common issues & FAQs
Why am I getting false positives?
Common names produce noise. Use AI Evaluation, add aliases, and supply country/address to narrow results.
How often should I re-screen existing parties?
Set up monitoring to auto-re-screen daily — sanctions lists update constantly.
Can I screen in bulk?
Yes — upload a CSV in Entity Screen for ongoing bulk screening of large lists.
